My first two pictures are perspective. The first one is taking through an inflatable ball with my sister looking in. I like the reflections and the distorted color that the clear blue creates, but if I were to do the picture again I would take it of something more interesting. The second perspective is my friend walking on the track with jeans and heeled shoes on. I like how the tan of the ground goes with the color of her shoes and the blue of her jeans matches with the color of the railing on the track. I also like the blur around the sides of the picture and how there are a lot of leading lines to her legs, but I wish I would've added something else to it to make it more interesting to look at. The second two pictures are dramatic lighting. The first one is my sister sitting with a disgusted look on her face. I like how there are different shadows on her face and her shadow on the wall is big, and I also think her expression is funny. The picture has nice contrast and I think it is balanced well with her being on one side and her shadow towards the other side. My second dramatic lighting picture is my brother wearing a scary mask and my sister acting scared of it. I like the shadows that my brother's arms create, but I wish more of his mask was visible, as well as keeping the angle where my sister's expression is visible.
My first two pictures are landscape pictures. The first picture is a shallow depth of field. There is a fence in the front and in the back there are flowers and other plants. The second landscape picture has a deep depth of field, with the focus being on the colorful trees in the background and the leaf in the front is blurred. My second two pictures are choice pictures. The first one is a house in the background and a street lamp in front. The second picture is my brother playing with his toys in his sandbox. I think that all of my pictures utilized unity. The first picture has all parts of the fence working together to frame the picture, the second has multiple colors of trees coming together for a cool fall look, the third has a house and a lamp (two completely different things) but with similar colors and structures going together. The fourth pictures uses the green of the background and neutral tones of the sand to come together for an interesting picture. I like the composition of the first picture, but if I were to take it again, I would try to make the background a little more clear so the colors are more visible. For the second picture, I would pick a different subject than a leaf to be in the front. I really like the lighting and the colors in the third picture. I like how candid the fourth picture is and that it captures a childlike aspect and gives a playful feeling.
describe: for this project, I was assigned to take two pictures of childhood memories and show action. My other two pictures are choice pictures. In picture 1, I took a picture of motion blur and in picture 2 I chose panning. For my two choice pictures, I used animals as my subjects.
analyze: in all of my pictures, I utilized the principles of movement and contrast. In picture 1, there is physical movement shown with the blurriness of the merry go round and the kids. For picture 2, the background is blurry and out of focus, as well as the girl a little bit, which shows that she is moving down the slide. For picture 3, there is visual movement across the picture with the strip of sunlight down the center; it guides the eye across the page. For picture 4, there is movement across the page shown through the lines of the cage and the logs. interpret: the inspiration for pictures 1 and 2 came from my own childhood memories. As a child, I loved going to the park with my friends and cousins, and more specifically I loved slides and merry go rounds. The park that I took these two pictures at is also the park that I always went to as a kid, and I wanted to recreate the joy that I experienced each time I went there and played on my favorite things. The two pictures show rapid movement, which can symbolize how fast childhood seems to fly by, and before we know it we're adults with responsibilities and deadlines and endless things to get done. For picture 3 I liked how the sunlight looked against my dog's dark fur, and I like the way it turned out to go over her eyes and face. In picture 4, I liked how the square of the cage almost perfectly framed the head of the lion. evaluate: I like how my pictures for this project turned out more than the first project. It was easier for me to find inspiration and interesting things to capture. For picture 1, I like how the movement was captured and I like how the red and yellow of the merry go round pop. If I were to do it again, I would try to take it at a different time of day so the white of the background isn't so bright. For picture 2, I wish the girl was a little bit more in focus. For picture 3, I like the contrast of the lights and darks. For picture 4, if I were to do it again, I would try a different angle to eliminate some of the shadows. describe: for this project, I selected 4 words out of a hat. The words were pattern/symmetry, treat, leading lines, and wallow. In addition to taking pictures of the selected words, I had two choice pictures. In my choice pictures, I focused on emphasis and contrast.
analyze: in all of my pictures, I utilized contrast. In the first picture, the neutral colored background makes the colors pop. In the second picture, the bright green grass makes the alligator look darker, which draws attention to it. In the third picture, the orange of the match and the sparks stand out against the smoke and dark blue of the background. In the fourth picture, everything is in black and white except the eyes, which I kept blue. With each picture having contrast, they all also have emphasis because the contrasting colors and light/dark help create a more clear subject. interpret: for my first two pictures, the inspiration came from the words that I selected. In the first one, I made a pattern (a rainbow) out of jellybeans (a treat). I chose to do a rainbow for the pattern instead of just 2 or 3 colors because I thought it would look better against the plain background. In the second picture, the alligator serves as the leading line and it is wallowing. The shape that it is laying in makes the eye move across its body which is why I chose to capture it the way I did. The third picture is a choice picture. I chose to take it because I liked how the dark background made the sparks look. For the last picture, I wanted to capture my sister's eyes, which I think are a really pretty color. I made the rest of the picture black and white to put emphasis on the unique eye color that she has. evaluate: I like the colors in my first picture, but I think I could've done it in a more interesting way, such as a unique perspective or a different background. I like the cropping and angle of the second picture, but if I were to do it again I would maybe try to find a subject that is a more interesting/visually pleasing color. For the third picture, I would try to make it less blurry and grainy, but I like the editing and the colors. for the last picture, I like how her eyes are emphasized, but I wish that either all of her nails were painted or they were all plain. |
